Tourism poster winners announced
The Belize Tourism Board, in collaboration with the Caribbean Tourism Organization has announced the winners of the poster competition “Caribbean Tourism Through the Eyes of Tomorrow.” Canaan High School stole the show with two of it’s students, Jeremy Cuthkelvin and Nicole James winning first and third prize respectively while Cherene Valero of the Belmopan Comprehensive School won second place. The students were awarded $300, $200 and $100 respectively. In addition, the winning entries will be sent to Barbados to participate in regional competition where the students will have another chance to win some more money for themselves and their schools. BTB says that in the months to come, they’ll launch other programs, such as school debates and projects, to get students involved with promoting Belize’s tourism.
