Sale of Liquor Extended

Kareem Musa

Bars, casinos and nightclubs are still not allowed to open.  You cannot have parties or organize gatherings at your house. But it would seem that the tourism sector’s concerns have been listened to; as starting next month, alcohol can now be purchased and served after six p.m.

Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs

“The sale of liquor has been extended so there is no longer the six p.m. requirement, but now it is ten p.m. But let me make this very clear. Like I said, that only pertains to restaurants and shops. If your shop license says that you can only sell alcohol until nine p.m.; that doesn’t mean that you can take advantage of the new regulations and sell until ten p.m. – absolutely not. So if your shop license is nine that is the cut off time for selling alcohol. Bars casinos and nightclub – all of those remain closed. So none of those businesses are allowed to operate during the term of these regulations.”
