Estevan Perera, Resigns as Chairman of Elections & Boundaries Commission
In a statement on social media, attorney Estevan Perera resigns from the post as Chairman of the Elections and Boundaries Commission. Perera says that at this time the country needs unity and for government to utilize its remaining resources for the benefit of the people, so for him to remain would cause unnecessary delays. And so he resigned. Perera was appointed to the post by the former U.D.P. Administration back in July of 2020, just months prior to the general elections.
