A Fatal Accident in St. Matthew’s Village
Police need your help to identify the driver and vehicle that left one man dead in a hit and run. The crash occurred in Saint Matthew’s Village on Sunday night. Police report that two men were walking on the road’s side when a car hit one of the men from behind. The driver never stopped to render aid, and now the police are trying to identify the vehicle and driver.

“Police were called to St Matthews Village where they spoke with one Hugo Juarez who reported that shortly before eight o’clock that he and Mauricio Cortez were walking on the side of the highway from a west to east direction when he suddenly heard a loud bang coming from behind and he realized that Cortez was hit by a dark colored small car which sped off leaving him on the ground injured. Upon police’s arrival on the scene, Cortez had already died. Scene was processed and body was sent to Western Regional Hospital where it was pronounced dead. At this time we are seeking the public’s assistance to identify that small dark colored car which was east bound at the time of the accident.”
