B.N.T.U. Wants UNAC Fully Implemented!
It was a crusade led by the Belize National Teachers Union in 2016 that the then Government was forced to sign unto the United Nations Convention against Corruption. Teachers held an eleven-day strike until their demands were met. UNCAC has yet to be fully implemented, and as B.N.T.U. National President Elena Smith told News Five, the N.T.U.C.B. will be making sure that the second phase of UNCAC is implemented.

“That matter has been discussed and we have a resolution that we must deal with the matter. We have to write, we understand it is no longer the AG. It is the minister of Public Service, to ensure that that committee gets its work down, it’s get activated and that we see through the other phase of the implementations. So that matter was just discussed over the weekend, well the N.T.U.C.B. will be writing to the minister to address that matter.”
