Car burns; owner says it’s arson
Two weeks ago Emolyn Burgess bought a car. However, the young woman claims that ever since she bought the vehicle, someone has been trying to destroy it. She says about a week ago someone threw a bottle filled with gasoline and tried to set the car on fire. Her family managed to save the car, but the walls of their house at number twenty Kelly Street were scorched. This morning there was another attack and this time, the arsonist was successful. Burgess says she awoke around three am to find the house was filled with smoke. By the time she got outside, the car, valued at nine thousand dollars was already engulfed in flames. Burgess says because of the previous incident she had parked the vehicle away from the house in order to protect her family. Burgess says she does not to know why anyone would want to hurt her family and possessions. The matter has been reported to police.
