Prime Minister John Briceño

“I agree that we can’t govern by social media but it is important to make this abundantly clear. It is regrettable that people have misunderstood or twisted around what I said. If there is anybody that felt offended by what I said, I apologize. That was not what I wanted to do. People know me in Belize. As a business person I have hired hundreds of people and we have many great talented Belize. So I want to make that very clear. Now that I have been in government, I have appointed hundreds of people through the different ministries, either directly or indirectly. The people that the U.D.P. trying to make a case of, they are forty persons and we have twenty six representatives that we elected or represent twenty six, one unfortunately passed away. We are talking about forty persons and these forty persons are also talented and like them there are many more Belizeans that are talented so we want to reach out to everybody. We said that we are a government for the people. We want to create opportunities for people and we are going to do everything possible to create those opportunities for everyone.  I just want to leave it as that. If people felt offended, I apologize but I said my record speak for itself. I have had hired of Belizeans in my personal business and we see the great talent that we have over there. In government I have hired directly or indirectly hundreds of that. We are talking forty persons of twenty-six P.U.P. elected representatives. I think we end at that.”
