Inmate freed of one charge; stays locked up on others
Yet another duo was freed after the victim requested no further action in Court. Twenty year old Jason Gillett and a fifteen year old minor were charged with the Attempted Murder of seventeen year old Adolphus Gomez. The incident occurred on August twelfth 2008. Gomez reported to police that he was walking on Fairweather Street with a friend when he was approached by a man who took out a nine millimetre pistol and fired a shot at him. The bullet struck Gomez to the left side of his head and had to be removed through surgery. Charges of Dangerous Harm and Use of Deadly Means of Harm against Gillett and the minor were withdrawn. And while the minor was able to walk away, Gillett, however, was not freed because he is serving time for convictions of Keeping a Firearm and Ammunition without a Gun License.
