Budget Consultations Held with Agro-Productive Sector
Today at the Biltmore Plaza in Belize City, Prime Minister John Briceño along with his C.E.O. Narda Garcia and Minister of State, Christopher Coye as well as Tourism Minister Anthony Mahler met with stakeholders from the agro-productive sector. It is part of the government’s ongoing budget consultations. While with Minister Mahler, he reflected on how the meeting went.
Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism
“This is just a part of the consultation process for the budget. So we’ve met with the N.G.O. community, we’ve met with the business community and today we met with the agro-productive sector, so many people in farming or agriculture.”
Duane Moody
“What are some of the concerns that came out?”
Anthony Mahler
“Well tax issues, regulatory environment, operating quality, being more productive, support from government. And the main thing that they continue to say is that this government is listening to them and we signalled to them that we are willing to listen and work because only together can we rebuild this economy.”
