Fuel Prices Go Up at the Pumps
Belizeans who had been hoping the price of gas might not keep rising will be disappointed tonight. The Ministry of Finance has announced the pump price of three fuel products will change on Thursday. Premium gasoline will jump by fifty-one cents from nine dollars and eighty-nine cents to ten dollars and forty cents per gallon. Kerosene will increase by twenty-nine cents from six dollars and forty-six cents to six dollars and seventy-five cents a gallon. Diesel will increase by forty-two cents from nine dollars and twenty cents to nine dollars and sixty-two cents per gallon. Only regular gasoline users have escaped the hikes with regular holding its position at nine dollars and eighty-one cents per gallon. According to the Ministry of Finance these price fluctuations reflect current demand and supply conditions of crude oil in the international petroleum market and changes in the acquisition price of refined fuel products in the countries from which Belize obtains its supplies.
