Marlon Budd charged with Perez Murder

This afternoon Marlon Budd was escorted over to Magistrate Court. He is charged with the brutal murder of twenty-six year old Oscar Perez on January twenty-second. Perez was in the company of his common law wife, Glenda Castro and his brother Edwin Perez when he was shot in the head near the Salvation Army Primary School on Cemetery Road. The trio had tried to run away from a group of men who threatened them near Hydes Lane but encountered them again on Orange Street. Following the murder police detained several men for questioning but were looking for their prime suspect, Budd. He surrendered to the police earlier this week. Budd has been remanded to Hattieville prison and is scheduled to re-appear in Magistrate Court on February twenty-eighth.
