Suspect sought in Belize City murder
Police have detained five men for questioning and are looking for one more Marlon Budd in connection with the murder of twenty-six year old Oscar Perez. Perez was shot twice in front of his wife and brother near the Salvation Army Primary School on Saturday night. Perez’s common-law wife, Glenda Castro, told News Five that five men approached them at the corner of North Front Street and Hydes Lane and demanded money. Perez refused and the three managed to escape their assailants. But before they could get home, they met the men again and this time there was no time to run. One of the men pulled out a gun and shot Perez, once in his right eye and the again in his chest. Castro and Perez’s brother, Edwin Perez, escaped without physical injury.
