Belize will get good view of lunar eclipse
If you were planning a little romance under the moonlight tonight, you’re in for a special treat because there’s going to be a total lunar eclipse. A lunar eclipse occurs when the earth gets between the sun and the moon. While the earth’s “shadow” casts a darkness on the moon, the sunlight passing through our atmosphere changes all the blue light into a deep red or orange colour. According to the experts, the same thing happens during a sunset. Chief Meteorologist Justin Hulse says the public can see the red moon in clear skies tonight without any special equipment, starting at around nine p.m. with the full eclipse coming about an hour later.
