Man tries to smuggle marijuana across border in his pants

In criminal circles, how creative you get trying to hide your drugs might mean the difference between life on the streets or time behind bars. While some have tried to hide drugs under rocks in the front yard and swallowing substances to escape the long arm of the law, one man from the Cayo District, allegedly tried to hide his drugs in his trousers. Unfortunately for him, the Belizean officials at theWestern Border let no bag or pants go unchecked. Just before three yesterday afternoon, twenty-five year old Ricky Polanco, was caught reportedly trying to cross the border with a black plastic bag of weed in his pants. Officials noticed the peculiar shape in the front of Polanco’s pants, and his suspicious behavior, and pulled him in for a body search. Polanco was immediately detained by police and has been charged for drug trafficking. He was reportedly carrying three hundred sixty-one grams of weed. Polanco has been ordered to pay a fine of ten thousand dollars or spend three years in jail.
