Clifford Lorenzo is Murdered in the Yard

Last week’s gun violence ended on Saturday night when a resident of Rivero Street in south side Belize City was gunned down inside his yard. Clifford Anthony Lorenzo was walking inside his yard when someone approached him and fired several gunshots in his direction. News Five’s Duane Moody reports.

Just after eight o’clock on Saturday night, residents say they heard up to five shots in the area of Rivero Street in south side Belize City. When the echo of the blasts subsided, twenty-six-year-old Clifford Lorenzo lay dead inside his yard.

“Police responded to a shooting incident at Rivero Street, Belize City. Upon their arrival, information was received that one Clifford Lorenzo, twenty-six years, had received gunshot injuries and was lying motionless inside a yard. Investigation revealed that Lorenzo was inside a yard when a male person entered and fired several shots at him causing the fatal injuries.”

Three persons have since been detained in connection with this latest homicide. But what could have led to the calculated attack on Lorenzo?

“Again, the investigation is ongoing at this time. Three persons are detained and that is one of the motives that we are looking at, whether it is related to the other murders that had occurred.”
