Belizean busted in Houston for running prostitution ring
We rarely report on these cases, but the following story is about a prostitution ring in the United States that is reportedly being run by a Belizean woman. A Houston based reporter told us that thirty-three year old Deborah Louise Dawkins, A.K.A. Vivian, is in possession of a green card and she is married and has two children with her business partner Charles Turbiville. In the story reported in the Houston Chronicle and numerous newspapers, the Turbiville’s are referred to as inexperienced entrepreneurs who nurtured a high class call-girl service in Houston for the past few years. The call-girl service had two locations, several websites and a client list with at least one thousand five hundred names of professional businessmen, athletes, doctors and lawyers. Deborah handled the day-to-day operations, interviewing prospective employees at a Galleria-area of Starbucks and answering calls and e-mails from potential clients who paid three hundred dollars and up for a one hour session. In addition to single mothers, she hired a mix of white and Hispanic women in their early twenties who were college educated or attending college. But cops busted the ring and the Turbiville’s were arrested on March tenth and charged with Aggravated Promotion of Prostitution, a third-degree felony, punishable by a maximum of ten years in prison. They were released after posting bail of five thousand U.S. dollars each. Their next scheduled court appearance is April fifteenth. According to the reports, once the investigation is completed, they may also face money laundering charges. If the Belizean is convicted and serves time, she may still face deportation to Belize.
