Auto dealers join forces to showcase new cars and trucks

Story Picture
Have you been checking out that hot new ride but aren’t really sure what kind of damage it’s going to do to your pocket or how easy it will be to get parts? Well after the four major auto dealers got together last year to display their vehicles and tell customers about the services they provide, they got such a good response, they’re doing it again. They may be competitors but this weekend Belizean car dealers will be sharing the grounds of the City Center to showcase their products which include everything from Ford to Jeep to Mitsubishi and Toyota and then some. All the dealers want you and your family to stop by their booths even if you’re just window-shopping. News Five had some free time today and visited the Belize City dealers to get a look at the nice rides.

Eddie Bouloy, Managing Director, Bravo Motors

“Here at Bravo Motors, we have a very wide array of vehicles to fit many different pockets. We have brand new cars starting at about mid thirties and going as high as you’d like to go. We also have a lot of, we take in trade-ins from time to time so trade-ins would fit other pockets. So if you can’t afford thirty-fives, you might be able to afford twenty or fifteen. And from time to time we do have trade-ins at those values and we can also arrange financing and give you a full package on the car as well.”

Mel Auil, Managing Director, JMA Motors

“Our strategy is basically, we try to sell ourselves first because we try to sell JMA Motors as a company selling a quality product at a very good, excellent price and we provide excellent service and parts availability at all times. We try to build relationships with our customers.”

Israel “Pie” Marin, Managing Director, Belize Diesel

“As far as sales are concerned, we want to do the sales, we want to get rid of all the inventory that we had left over and we will aggressively seek to achieve it but we want to showcase Belize Diesel for what it is. That’s our main focus for this show.

I’d like to tell everyone out there that there are cars that are affordable but if you want to buy something expensive, don’t feel like it’s going to be given away out there. There’re going to be good deals.”

Bill Bowman, Managing Director, Belize Estate Company Ltd.

“The dealerships in Belize have become very, very competitive with the United States dealers and have actually in most cases, our prices here are better than an automobile in the States. An added benefit is now you get a two-year bumper to bumper warranty on any product you buy from our dealerships and I think our competitors are pretty much in line with that two-year bumper to bumper warranty. So you have some security in buying a new product, knowing that you have a two-year warranty on that product.”

The auto dealers say banks will be offering prospective buyers financing by way of an eight-percent interest rate over a six-year period. In addition to the four Belize City dealers, David Novelo, of Novelty Enterprises in Cayo, will be displaying Chevrolet trucks, Mercedes buses and the 2000 Corvette. The dealers say the limited confines of the City Center compound won’t allow for test-drives over the weekend but they can be scheduled for next week. The second annual auto trade show will include live entertainment, food and drinks. The show gets underway at nine a.m. Saturday and ends at five p.m. on Sunday.
