P.S.U. Calls Out M.O.H.W. for Transfers of Public Officers

And now turning to more public service matters – Dean Flowers is calling out the Ministry of Health and Wellness. He alleges that public officers are being treated to very disrespectful and wrongful actions. He says one such incident happened today – where two officers were basically chased out of their office. He explains what went allegedly went down.

“It is really unfortunate, the actions of the Minister of Health and Wellness – the actions that he took this morning is very sad – the actions that one of his advisers/medical officer/ broker of vehicle or dealer – I don’t know what the guy’s post is.  What he did this morning is very unbecoming of anybody who considers himself a medical officer or adviser to the government. He kicked two public officers as I understand it out of their offices, saying to them, based on the instruction of the minister, saying to them, “clear your desk and go home.” I understand one of the officer said, look, I cannot just leave my post and I need a letter. Well, he said, “there is none for you – the minister said clear your desk and go home.” The officers did vacate. One of officers already had a letter which was sent to him prior to this incident today and was scheduled to be transferred on Monday so he had no difficulty leaving but the other officer was attacked for wearing a yellow shirt. Because his words, this medical officer/ technical adviser, his words to her was “the audacity you have to come to work in yellow shirt to resist the ten percent cut and now the eat at your desk.”  Very unprofessional, very unbecoming.”
