Minister Chebat Responds to P.S.U., Says F.O. was Transferred
Health and Wellness Minister Michel Chebat responded to the reports of alleged termination and removal of staff from within the Ministry of Health and Wellness. Last Friday, the first Vice President of the Public Service Union spoke to News Five about what he termed the disrespect and wrongful actions taken against public officers. He alleged the minister was trying to get rid of a senior finance officer.

“Absolutely not true and I want to tell you that that matter will be ventilated in another forum down the road.”

“Sir, can you respond to what the P.S.U. said last Friday? They spoke about the fact that the F.O. from the ministry was being threatened; you were threatening to send her home because she didn’t want to sign off on some payments. They also spoke of other officers within the ministry of health being told you are not needed anymore, go home.”
Michel Chebat
“That’s absolutely not true. The F.O. was transferred out of the ministry. We had a conversation. The conversation she and I had was based on the budget; it had nothing to do with anything else. I want to say for a fact; I know that Channel Seven for example have put out some receipts or invoices for vehicle repair for me. The P.S.U. made a big deal saying that I am not entitled because I am getting vehicle allowance. I want to say categorically, I am not receiving vehicle allowance at this time and I am surprised channel seven has not given out my payslip because they have had my payslip since January of this year.”
