San Pedro teens missing

Story Picture
A young man from San Pedro is looking for his little sister and her friend who ran away, saying they are on their way to Canada. According to Abel Santos, on Monday morning his fifteen-year-old sister, Leora Marleny Santos and her friend, fourteen-year-old Carla Elizabeth Sealey left the Santos’ home on Angel Coral Street in San Pedro heading for school. Around six-thirty that night, Santos had not yet come home and her family started getting worried. When they decided to search her room, they found a letter, written by Leora, telling both the Santos and Sealey families the girls were running away to Canada with a young man they had met on the island. The families say the girls have never done anything like this before and they are worried. They say the immigration department told them they have no records of any passports under those names, so the girls may still be in Belize. However, the Santos family says they cannot find the birth certificate of a younger daughter and believes Carla Sealey may be trying to use the document to travel under the name Naciera Santos. If you have seen Leora Santos or Carla Sealey, please contact the nearest police station.
