PM Refutes Asset Sales
Prime Minister John Briceño began wrapping up the budget debate a little after five p.m. today. PM Briceño responded to accusations from Mesopotamia area rep Moses ‘Shyne’ Barrow who accused the Prime Minister and his administration of selling off public assets and engaging in spending sprees on vehicles over the last five months. Well, PM Briceño argued that the member for Mesopotamia has it all wrong. And the PM says he also wants the Unions to stop propagating U.D.P. propaganda.
Prime Minister John Briceño
“Let me state here for the record that since coming to office, my administration has purchased five vehicles. Half of our Ministers and C.E.O.s are driving their personal vehicles because we have not gone out on a major spending spree on vehicles. And then you talk that we di sell off assets, we di sell off assets like crazy. Well let me correct so you do not embarrass yourself. They talk about we di sell off the planes. The planes have gone on auctions on two occasions, and they were not sold. Then an attorney representing clients sent a letter that they want to buy these planes. I sent it to the FinSec. The Financial Secretary said, Prime Minister lets sell them because nobody is buying them, and the longer we keep them the less value they will get. And then the B.D.F. told us that one of those four planes that they have been looking after in Crooked Tree, it has cost the BDF a hundred thousand dollars to mind that plane. And guess what, the planes still nuh sell. The planes are still here. So, I nuh know weh he the talk bout we the sell like we crazy. And I wish the Unions will listen so they would stop propagating the U.D.P. propaganda that we the sell out assets. We have not sold a single vehicle, not a single vehicle since we got in.”
