Pot plantation destroyed in Corozal
And while most Belizeans were huddled under the covers early Sunday morning trying to sleep off their overindulgences the night before, Corozal police were busy taking down some Christmas trees. These green seedlings, however, were not traditional pines; they were part of a plantation of some one thousand marijuana plants. The field was discovered between five and six thirty a.m. a mile and a half northeast of Consejo Village. No farmers were found in the area but the weed was uprooted and burned.
