Robbery at Hotel in Punta Gorda
A hotel in Southern Belize was held up on Monday afternoon. Police responded to a call from the Golden Motel Inn in Punta Gorda and were told by the owner that three people, a woman and two men, entered demanding money. They ransacked the business and stole an undisclosed about of money, jewelry, and beverages. They also took a white Toyota Hilux that had been parked in the garage and fled the scene in the vehicle. Later that day, police intercepted two of the suspects at the Trio junction. They were driving a black Ford Ranger pickup at that point. Kobe Stephan Dyer of Hattieville and Kimberly Monique Coye of Placencia were detained. A search of the vehicle yielded a pistol and live ammunition, as well as other items. Neither individual had a fire arms license.
