IDB invites youths to apply for forum
It seems young people who are prone to violence or giving trouble are always in the news, but what about the youths who are quietly working to make Belize better? The Inter-American Development Bank is looking for these people and will send two of them to a youth summit in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA in March. The initiative is aimed at incorporating Latin American and Caribbean young adults in the development process. The first IDB Youth Summit was held in Israel in 1995. Belize was represented by William Neal and Herb Castillo. If you’re between the ages of eighteen and thirty, are actively involved in community service activities and/or youth led or youth serving organizations, and would like to be considered as a delegate contact William Neal at the IDB office at the Marina Towers in Belize City. Applications, either hard copy or via e-mail are due by January twenty-eighth, 2000.
