A.P.S.S.M. Says Membership is Also Covered by Strike Action

Sharon Frazer

The Association of Public Service Senior Management has served the Labor Commissioner Anne Marie Thompson with an official letter, noting its participation in ongoing industrial actions.  According to President of A.P.S.S.M., Sharon Frazer, her members are public officers who are legally covered under the P.S.U.’s twenty-one days’ notice of intended strike action.  Notwithstanding, Frazer says the official notice was forwarded in line with formalities.

Sharon Frazer, President, A.P.S.S.M.

“In terms of first move, we have been a part of the process. I have said that before. We have been in solidarity from the very first day. And I did indicate that we are public officers and the notice that P.S.U. gave would have covered us as public officers. And yes we did put a formal notice to the Minister of Labor that we are joining.  So there is no need to put no further twenty-one days, because it is already there, they have already been informed. We are negotiating jointly, so that in fact we fall under that legally, that letter that has already been sent.”
