Man injured in Belize City shooting
A man was shot in the neck Tuesday afternoon in Belize City. Delrick Sankey told police he and his cousin were at the corner of Partridge and Vernon Streets when a youth known only to him as Jamir approached. He says the teenager pulled out a small chrome gun and started firing. While the first shot missed, the second bullet hit Sankey on his neck. The alleged triggerman, later identified as Jamal Flowers has been arrested and charged with attempted murder as well as grevious harm and used of deadly means of harm. Sankey has been treated and released from the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
