Tourism up at start of high season
The Belize Tourism Board is reporting a hefty increase in tourist arrivals for the high season. B.T.B. figures from the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport indicate that arrivals are up thirty-five percent with two thousand more visitors arriving by air in Belize in November compared to the same time last year. Overall 1999 — minus this month of course — appears to have had an increase of four percent over 1998. The figures do not reflect business or official travelers. B.T.B. says the forecast for the remainder of the high season suggests a continued upward trend.
