Three detained for border robbery
Two Salvadorans heading into Guatemala had a close encounter with some armed men of their own, near the Western Border on Thursday morning. Berta Sorto and her brother Ma Sorto who live in Orange Walk Town told police they were walking along the western bank of the Mopan River near Benque when four Hispanic men robbed them of almost six hundred dollars in cash and a thousand dollars in personal items. Police immediately launched a search and have detained three Guatemalans for questioning.
