Eight year old killed on Northern Highway
One family in Libertad will have a sad Christmas this year after an eight year old girl was knocked down and killed Thursday afternoon at the junction of the Northern Highway and Libertad Village. Christine Swasey a student of the Libertad Adventist School was roller-skating at the junction when a truck driven by Omar Vega of San Estevan hit her as it was entering Libertad. He has been charged with manslaughter by negligence and causing death by careless conduct.
