Kirk Gordon is Slain in Latest Belize City Shooting

Kirk Gordon

There was a fatal shooting in the Trench Town are of Belize City on Friday evening. Forty-three-year-old Francis Gordon was gunned down while sitting near a boat when a gunman emerged on the scene.  The unknown individual took aim at the Kraal Road resident and opened fire, fatally injuring him.  According to investigators, Gordon’s murder was the result of a rivalry he had with persons in that neighborhood.

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero, Deputy Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“On Friday, May 14th, 2021 around 6:40 p.m., police responded to a shooting incident at Peter Seco Street in Belize City.  Upon their arrival they found Kirk Gordon with several gunshot injuries.  He was transported to the K.H.M.H. where he was pronounced dead on arrival.  Investigation revealed that he was on the street sitting by a skiff when a male person came towards him and fired several shots at his direction, causing his fatal injuries.  We are seeking one person in regards to this investigation.”

“We are looking at several factors and it might be some rivalry from persons within that area where he was.”

“So it might be an internal feud…”

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero

“No, it was a rivalry that he has with those persons from that area where he was because he is from Kraal Road.”

Gordon was released from the Belize Central Prison in 2019, after serving time for the death of Arthur Ellis.  In October 2010, the Privy Council reduced his conviction from murder to manslaughter and sentenced him to fifteen years.
