Salvation Army says Kettle Appeal going well

Story Picture
The bells have been ringing and the community has been giving generously to the Salvation Army Kettle Appeal. Since the appeal was launched on November twelfth, Belizeans and even visitors have been dropping whatever they can afford into the red kettles. The money raised will go towards the annual Christmas dinner and toy donations for children whose families cannot afford to give their little ones gifts. According to Captain James Garth, General Manager of the Salvation Army he has been encouraged by the donations over the past three weeks. Garth told News Five with seven thousand dollars now in the bank, they are more than halfway towards their goal of ten thousand dollars. The captain encourages those who have not yet donated to the Christmas appeal to please join in the spirit of giving a Belizean child a Merry Christmas this year. The kettles have been posted outside of all major shops and at the International Airport.
