Woman Shot in Belize City – Police Say She Wasn’t the Intended Target

There was another shooting in Belize City on Friday afternoon. It happened on Lakeview Street. A Guatemalan woman was shot but police say that she wasn’t the intended target.

“That was Friday afternoon after five p.m. Miss Dina Mas was riding her bike on Lakeview Street heading towards Vernon Street and on the opposite side of the street there was a young man who was walking on the canal side when suddenly someone came out from a bushy yard and fired several shots. At the time, the intended target was the young man who was walking by the canal side but unfortunately the Miss Mas was riding her bike at the same time and she was injured.  She was treated and discharged the following day at the hospital. We know that it was between the two rivaling groups in the Lakeview area.”
