Western Union introduces new business service
It’s not for everyone but beginning on Tuesday, Western Union’s new “Quick Pay” will mean Belizean businesses can get their money transfers faster and with fewer hassles. With the new payment system, businesses can receive money from individuals all over the world the day after the payment is made.
Danette Burns, Western Union
“When we visited some of the companies, like the tour operators especially, their complaint has always been it takes so long for me to get my money. The tours come in, I still haven’t received payments. And with the quick pay they would be able to receive their payments, the following day that the tour operator has made payment because as soon as the payment is made, they get an e-mail or fax notifying them that this money has been paid.”
Belizean companies will have to register to receive Quick Pay but the service is free. The new service will be launched on Tuesday.
