Elvia Vega-Samos, Minister of State for Human Development
Move over, Gilroy Usher Senior; there is a new minister of state in the Ministry of Human Development, Families and Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs. On Tuesday, Corozal Bay area representative, Elvia Vega-Samos was sworn in before Governor General Froyla Tzalam as a junior minister. Vega-Samos replaces Usher, who will now serve as Minister of State in the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy and Logistics, which is headed by substantive Minister Rodwell Ferguson. The swearing in ceremony took place at the Belize House in Belmopan before the new minister’s family and other members of the House of Representatives.
