Copa Connects Belize to Latin America Once More

Copa Airlines made it is first flight back to Belize on Wednesday since the reopening of the international airport. This is an important air carrier returning to Belize, since it is the only carrier that connects us directly to Central and South America. Copa will be running one flight to and from Belize weekly, on Wednesdays for the next two weeks and on Fridays the following week. And while it is just one flight per week, C.E.O. at the Ministry of Tourism Nicole Solano told News Five that this flight can hold up to twice the number of passengers as some other planes.

“We are excited that Copa Airlines returned this week. Their inaugural flight, back after COVID, was June second. So on Wednesday this week and Wednesday next week, which is the ninth, they will be arriving and departing from Belize. After next week Wednesday they will be on a Friday schedule. So we’re definitely looking forward to those additional seats coming in to Belize from Panama.   What is important about that flight through Panama is it connects us with South America. As you know it was the first flight we had arriving since COVID, or since the airport opened, from Central America. And that connects us with not only South America but a lot of the European traffic as well.”
