Charred Remains Found in Esperanza; Santa Elena Fire fighter Missing

Police were called to retrieve the charred remains of a person on a farm in Esperanza Village on Tuesday morning.  It was discovered by the property owner who told police that on Monday, he noticed a huge fire on his farm.  The following day, the farmer reportedly went to check the area where he found the charred remains and called police.  While the remains have been transported to the National Forensic Lab for examinations, the San Ignacio and Santa Elena fire department are asking the public’s assistance in locating one of their own.  A release from the department says Volunteer Firefighter Peter Jones has been missing since Monday evening.  There are not many details available at the moment as to the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, but anyone with information is asked to call the Santa Elena Fire Department or nearest police station.
