Moses “Shyne” Barrow & Others Send Letter to Governor General
Shyne Barrow for leader of the United Democratic Party? It appears Moses Shyne Barrow is making moves to position himself as the frontrunner for the position, should Patrick Faber be recalled. This evening, we received a copy of the letter sent to Governor General Froyla Tzalam. The letter was signed by Barrow himself, along with House members Hugo Patt and Denise Barrow. The self-described ‘chief whip’ says that he has the support of the majority of the Opposition Members of the House of Representatives. In his letter, Barrow says, “We hereby notify the Governor-General that Opposition Chief Whip, Honorable Moses Shyne Barrow enjoys the confidence of the majority of the Opposition Members of the House of Representatives in accordance with Section forty-seven two. Whenever there is occasion for the appointment of a Leader of the Opposition, the Governor-General shall appoint the member of the House of Representatives who appears to him most likely to command the support of a majority of the members of the House who do not support the Government.” It should be noted this letter was not send via the U.D.P. Secretariat and is not part of the recall vote.
