San Roman Resident Charged for Death by Accident of Senior Cop
Today, Eyder Radiel Sanchez, a resident of San Roman Village in the Corozal District was slapped with a slew of charges. He was identified as the driver of a pickup that alleged crashed head-on into a car, killing Assistant Superintendent of Police Fernando Neal and injuring another officer. The accident occurred between miles seventy-six and seventy-seven on the Philip Goldson Highway on night of June nineteenth. Today police formally arrested and charged Sanchez for causing death by careless conduct, Manslaughter by Negligence, Failure to keep as close as possible on the right-hand side of the road, failing to report an accident, negligent harm, driving a motor vehicle without due care and attention and two counts of failing to stop and render aid. The latter is because Sanchez fled the scene after the crash. The twenty-six-year-old was arraigned in the Corozal Magistrate Court and was granted bail of eight thousand dollars.
