On the Phone: Hurl Hamilton, Attorney-at-law
“I am representing a minor that the police have proffered four charges against, two counts of conspiracy to commit murder and two counts of abetment to commit murder. This is in relation to murder charges that are proffered against other defendants that I am not involved in, in relation to the matter of Gonzalo Rosado and Wayne Cadle. My client was taken into custody over the weekend and charges were proffered and today we went to the Benque Viejo Magistrate’s Court for my client to be formally arraigned. She was arraigned and she is to report back to court on the thirty-first of August. No plea was taken as these matters are indictable matters, these matters will be tried. From my instructions, my client was on Belizean soil when she was taken to the police station in the company of her parents. Bail was granted even though the prosecution objected and bail was granted in the sum of five thousand dollars, plus one surety of the same amount. Conditions were set that she is to observe a curfew and she is to report to the Benque Viejo Police Station in the company of an officer of the Community Rehab Department from San Ignacio or Benque.”
