Grace Primary steel band to perform in Cancun

Bad weather in August may have prevented Grace Primary School’s steel band from participating in the Latin American Cultural Festival in Mexico, but they won’t be disappointed a second time. Thirty members of the band, their principal Gloria Edwards and Edith Gahona of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs left today for Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico en route to the Caribbean Music Festival in Cancun. The Pantasticks will perform in Chetumal Wednesday morning, then head north for the festival. Children from all over the region have been invited to share their talents. The group from Grace Primary will have the additional honor of participating in the opening ceremonies for Belize’s first Consulate Office in Cancun later this week. They return November fourteenth.
