Getaway car driver charged with Abetment to Commit Murder
Also in the court, a plumber accused as the getaway driver in a shooting was charged today with Abetment to Commit Murder. Thirty-four year old Rondy Mahler was remanded into custody until April twenty-ninth after Magistrate Aretha Ford upheld an objection to bail based on the seriousness of the offense and the possibility that Mahler might leave the country. Mahler was allegedly behind the wheel of a blue Toyota Camry that was used in a drive-by shooting on the night of March eleventh. The victim, Calvin Palma, lost three fingers in the incident which occurred on Nurse Findley Crescent.
