The fifty-three year old businessman luckily escaped a robbery attempt at the Princess Hotel and Casino. Fu Hung, a resident of Cork Street, reported to police that on March eleventh at around ten-thirty he was in the restroom when he was surprised by a man who came from behind and started to choke him. Hung says the man tried to rob him of his money and when he elbowed him a struggle ensued. According to Hung, a security guard eventually intervened and held off the attacker. Police investigations later led to the arrest of Michael Young of West Canal who appeared in Magistrates’ Court today to answer to the charge of Attempted Robbery. Young pleaded not guilty and was released on a three thousand dollar bail. He is to return to court in April twenty-ninth.
