“Salesman” makes off with eighteen thousand dollars
An Orange Walk man has reported being held up by the man who was supposed to sell him a car. Carlos Reyes told police he was on Fifth Avenue in Corozal Town on Monday morning when a man he knew only as “Mark” stopped in a black LTD car with tinted windows and asked him if he was ready to do business. When he took out eighteen thousand dollars, however, Reyes says Mark pulled a gun, stole the money and then drove off in the car. Police searched the area and notified border authorities but so far no one has seen the vehicle.
