Death Certificate Issued: Laddie Gillett’s Family Appreciates National Support

The medical certificate has been issued on the cause of death of Laddie Gillett. It reveals he died as a result of “a single perforating gunshot wound to the chest.” A family member told News Five this evening that they confirmed that the wording of the cause of death is accurate.  The term perforating refers to the fact that the bullet passed completely through Laddie’s body.  In this case, the bullet exited through the chest.  As for the ongoing protests, Laddie Gillett’s aunt, Sharon Meighan says the family is thankful for the outpouring of support from across the country.

“It is amazing. I cannot thank the country enough for standing with us, for justice for my little Laddie. It is just amazing. I was telling my family, my sisters, my mom, I said, Laddie is a person that loved attention and he would do anything to get attention from us. And so, with all this attention of him on the media, he is probably looking down on us and saying o my goodness, all that is for me. And um, but it is just an outpour of support that we have been getting from all over the country for justice for Laddie, and I cannot thank the country enough for not just kicking this under the table, but they are coming forth and letting their voices be heard, and let the country know, let the police department know that we are not just going to leave this.”
