Regular and Diesel Gas Going Up
There is some not-so-welcome news tonight for Belizean commuters. The Ministry of Finance announced today that effective Thursday, July twenty-second; the pump price of two fuel products will change. Regular gasoline is going up by thirty-eight cents to eleven dollars and thirty-seven cents per gallon; diesel will increase by six cents to ten dollars and sixty-five cents per gallon. The prices for premium gasoline and kerosene will remain unchanged at eleven dollars and sixty-four cents and seven dollars and sixty-two cents per gallon, respectively. According to the ministry, these price changes reflect the current demand and supply conditions of crude oil in the international petroleum market and fluctuations in the acquisition price of refined fuel products in the countries from which Belize obtains its supplies.
