G.O.B. Accessing Grant for Poverty Reduction
The Government of Belize has signed a grant agreement with the Caribbean Development Bank under the Basic Needs Trust Fund Programme. According to a release from G.O.B., the B.N.T.F. focuses on reducing poverty in low-income vulnerable communities. Sub-projects under the fund will aim at improving access to quality education and training, water and sanitation, basic community access and drainage, and human resource development. Project costs and the financing plan are estimated at over five million U.S. dollars with C.D.B. providing the majority of this with counterpart funding from G.O.B. of U.S. seven hundred thousand dollars.
