Three charged in Orange Walk kidnapping
In other police news, three men have been charged with various offenses in connection with an alleged kidnapping in Orange Walk earlier this month. Hudrick Usher a fisherman from Belize City reported that on the seventh of October he and a friend were at the D-Victoria Hotel in Orange Walk with a cousin, Adie Leslie, when eight Creole men, four of whom were armed came in asking for drugs. He claims he was ordered to rent a skiff and take the kidnappers to Caye Caulker because he had told them he had cocaine hidden there. Before he reached the caye he ran the boat into some mangroves and although shots were fired he managed to escape. He says his companions were then released. Police have charged Allen Gideon with harm, David Reynard with conspiracy to kidnap, kidnapping and harm, and Marlon Henderson with kidnapping, conspiracy to kidnap and threat of death. The remaining five men are at large.
