Henchmob releases album

Story Picture
Three young Belizeans who call themselves the Henchmob aren’t letting anything stop them from pursuing their quest to make music. Henchmob’s music features touches of punta, techno, rap and a little bit of soul, and they use everyday life as the main source of inspiration. The trio let us in on what they’re all about and gave a preview of their newly released album, “Underground Universal”.

Tyfara “Andazi” Panton, Henchmob

“About three years ago, my cousin introduced me to the whole group, which was then “Optimistic Views”. They were a sub group and they heard me sing and they like it and they say, “Come join we girl.”

Earl “G-Kidd” Usher, Henchmob

No make she get away from we.”

“And ever since then we make music together.”

Jermaine “Jenko” Jenkins, Henchmob

“It hard, only a chosen few make it but I believe that we are a part of that chosen few.

When you think about Henchmob, you think about people who do the dirty work… but to us, it simply means to make music, to follow the music like the music would be the leader. The followers would be the people listening to the music and the Henchmob would be the people that deliver the music to the followers.”

Earl “G-Kidd” Usher

“We want to expand man; we want to go worldwide. Right now we are trying to let it be known in Belize. I no know about them but I am really thinking about sales myself — Ladyville, Belmopan. I went Thursday way up there.”

Henchmob says the album’s message is to work hard for your dreams since their album has been their dream for quite some time. The group is supported by the Young Artists Association, family and friends. They will be performing in Chetumal on October ninth and will hold a concert with other YAA artists on November twenty-seventh.
