Story Picture
Five Courts Belize customers, each became two thousand dollars richer in the Furniture and Electrical Superstore’s 1999 Millennium Mania Draw. The draw was the third so far and the last in which the money will be shared among the winners. According to Ana Marie Bennett, Courts’ Advertising and Promotions Executive, the final three draws will be even larger and by the end of the year, Courts will have given away a total of one hundred and ten thousand dollars to eighteen customers.

“The next couple draws, one is in October. That will be for ten thousand dollars, going to one single winner. All the tickets will go into one barrel after this and the one in November is for twenty thousand dollars. The one in December is for fifty thousand.”

The lucky winners in this morning’s draw are Jose Urbina of Orange Walk, Paul Stevens from Belmopan, who is a second time winner, Joyce Pinelo from Santa Elena, Garson Ramnarace of Dangriga and Albert Arthurs from Belize City. Of course before each person was declared a winner, their name had to be cleared by the Courts Accounts Department. The draw was supervised by Bennett and Delvith Retreage, the Lotteries Supervisor. In other Courts news, the Employee Social Club held a fund raising drive for the Dorothy Menzies Child Care Center on St. Thomas Street. The staff collected dry goods, clothing and toys for the children and will present the items on Saturday.
