Man Arrested in Kwamie Williams’ Murder

Police have arrested and charged twenty-year-old Dashay Williams for the murder of fourteen-year-old Kwamie Williams. Investigators believe that Dashay, a resident of Dangriga Town, shot Kwamie after he was not able to locate his intended target. ComPol Williams gave us an update on their investigation.

“Yesterday, police were able to arrest and charged Dashay Williams in respect to the murder of Kwamie Williams. Let me say that while both are Williams, they are not related. That arrest came as a result of police investigation. We did identification parades and through that the suspect was identified and so he was charged yesterday for murder in respect to Kwamie Williams’ murder.  At this time from what our investigations are showing, Kwamie Williams was not the intended target. It would appear that the suspect had gone to look for another individual. He could not find that person. Kwamie Williams was walking on the street at the same time and he just shot him. So, that just goes to show the mentality of some of these criminals on our streets. When they cannot find their target, they just turn on anybody to send a signal or message.”
